Meet the filmmaker

Paul Birkett and Andrea Jovanovska have worked on several short film projects together, most notably co-directing the award winning 'Inferno Endures' (2018).

Paul previously directed 'From the Earth' (2015) which was shortlisted in BBC's 'Well Done U' short film competition, quoted by UK's leading film critic Mark Kermode as being "Very stylish to look at...visually impressive".

'Forgotten in Time' explores dementia through the eyes of 'Tim'. The way it is edited is designed to put the viewer in his shoes, experiencing the disorientating nature of the illness and confusion it brings. The use of bracketing is intended to further emphasise the cyclical nature of the disease, and how the events in the film could happen all over again. But in contrast to this, the last moments of the film could instead offer up hope for the future. The subjective nature of the film and the ambiguous ending encourages the viewer to interpret this for themselves.

The film was made on a micro budget, and with minimal crew - we had to juggle muliple roles during the shoot.
