Director Statement
Through my work as a director I value telling unique and compelling stories. I focus on female and immigrant stories, which, though still underrepresented in the film industry, could bring so much value and new perspectives.
Director Biography - Roxana Mia Capris
Roxana Mia is a Romanian film director based in Edinburgh. Roxana began her filmmaking career with her debut, award winning short documentary TWENTY (2022) which had been selected for Edinburgh International Film Festival, alongside others.
After the success of TWENTY, Roxana has gone on to direct other short films including Home Calls (2023), Where You Left off (2023), Happy Birthday Mr. Bear (2023) and Bonds (2024).
