Making Mountains
Synopsis: A chaotic stream of consciousness, expressing the escalating thoughts and feelings of a person navigating the difficulties of explaining her anxious mind.
Director Statement
Making mountains is inspired by my personal experiences with overthinking and my many attempts at explaining my anxious brain to my friends and family. I made this film for anyone who has had problems with anxiety and has struggled to explain how they think.
Director Biography - Sammi Duong
Sammi Duong is a film-maker, director and illustrator based in Edinburgh. She graduated in 2021 with Bachelors in illustration from the University of Edinburgh. Following this, she moved on to work as an animation director and illustrator at Scottish video agency, Heehaw, and won Young Designer of the Year at The Scottish Design Awards 2022.
She has a passion for creating films that at the core, are stories that explore misunderstood or neglected parts of herself and ultimately promote self-understanding and empathy from all audiences.
