Fishing poles is in a time when life seemed idyllic and is set in a little village called Ardglass in Ireland. It tells the story of two kids who get carried away and try to live out their dreams and aspirations. The boy has big dreams and thinks he is the leader of the two-person gang but little does he know that the girl is really the clever one who leads by manipulation in a mild mannered fashion. The story itself is set in nineteen sixty-nine the start of a turbulent time but they live their lives with little or no worries, as the troubles have not reached Ardglass or surrounding areas, yet.
