The Book of Love

SSynopsis: After bumping into the girl of his dreams, Leon, attempts to woo librarian Kayleigh by pretending to love books. However, as he goes deeper and deeper into his facade, his pretence becomes a passion, and Leon soon learns that an intellectual connection goes far beyond just a physical one.

Director Biography - Anderson J West

Anderson is an award-nominated writer/director who has worked for over a decade as a writer/director and producer, making short films, commercials and documentaries for brands, charities and museums across the UK.

As a teenager, Anderson moved from the sunny isles of South Florida to a council estate in Stoke on Trent, England in the early 2000s.

His American and British dual heritage gives him a unique perspective. It has influenced how he approaches his stories, many of which touch on cultural identity and belonging.

Anderson has a multi-genre approach to storytelling, and his 2016 short film Diembe, was about a young Kenyan boy migrating to the UK. This was an award-nominated and internationally screened short.

Anderson is a three-time finalist of the Pitch UK www.enterthepitch.com (Final 10 in 2019,2023, and Runners Up in 2020). He is also developing a feature-length film about the 1919 Liverpool race riots, The Motherland, his 2020 Runner up in the Pitch UK.
